ENERGYbits: My Latest Experiences and a Giveaway

Friday, March 14, 2014
Ok...so I was writing this great post yesterday when the power went out...low and behold...where did my post go!? OMG!  WTH!? Damn wind.

So here we go again.

As you are aware, I started taking ENERGYbits a while ago and have been using them daily and also before I run. They really provide me a sustained energy boost that last me well beyond a 6 mile run. Naturally, I started to test them on a longer run...well long for me, which is 10-12 miles.

Alright...in my effort to maintain honesty...it was a failure the first couple of times. Like crash and burn kind of failure. Maybe I should have kept those chews on me. Oh well, live and learn. I did not give up on my bits though. I know other people have done it with success and I would too. So I decided to take more at the start and take extra at about mile 4 or 5. It worked. It worked well actually. I am finishing my longer runs with energy to spare.

Well, at least I do if I don't have one of my brain farts and run out the door without my bits like I did last weekend. Naturally, I have solved that problem and now have bits stashed everywhere.

No really. I have two in my purse, two tins in my gym bag, a pouch in my running bag, a small stash in my yoga bag, and a tin in my office. Crazy...but so true.

Of course, when I got sick about a month ago, I decided to get some recovery bits which I've been taking to help ward off the office cooties that keep going around. So far - so good. No cooties. Then I saw that a fellow ambassador was taking them post workout to help recover faster...so I started doing that too.

The verdict is still out on the post workout recovery but what I can tell you, is my skin is clearer than ever. Funny thing is, I forgot to take them a couple of days and behold...breakout. UGH. Two days of bits and I'm clear again.

  3. As someone who struggles with hypoglycemia, I am always looking for something that will give me the energy without the corresponding sugar crash from gels and sports beans.

    1. I hate the sugar crash. I never have that issue with these since they are made of only algae and are 60% protein.

  5. I'm a big fan of ENERGYbits - I use them for all my long runs and races.
What I do is use the little sample sized baggies and put 30 in each bag, then I take all 30 every 45 minutes to an hour.
Sometimes I'll have a Honey Stinger or a clementine for something 'fun' to distract me, but for me the ENERGYbits really do the trick.
