I Love My Running Buddies!

Tuesday, March 25, 2014
My decision to run the Marine Corps Marathon was not one that was made overnight. My initial thoughts on running a marathon were something along the line of...
Of course, my thoughts on running a Half Marathon were the same. Then I ran the half marathon and thought, a Marathon...
So then I decided to see if I could get into the Marine Corps Historic 1775...and what do you know...I did and I was all...
but then I found out that none of my running buddies got into the race and I was like...
No seriously, I went home that night and drowned my sorrows in this stuff...
It didn't make me feel any better though. Especially since the majority of my friends wanted to run 1775 to have the guaranteed entry into the Marine Corps Marathon.
So I thought about it...
and I realized that I didn't want to take that entry into 1775 for granted. So I decided to run the Marine Corps Marathon and now all my friends are like...
but my running buddies are all...
I will have to admit though...the training for it has me a bit, well....
Luckily my running buddies have my back and are there to get me through so I can finish and be like...
So let me just take this moment to say thank you, to all my running buds that are there encouraging my crazy rather than discouraging. You all mean the world to me!

Have you told you let your running buddies know how much they rock lately?

  1. I am so excited that you took the leap of faith to join your crazy friends on this new challenge!! You have already done 14 and you are way ahead of the game! It will be gradual, you will have days of sunshine, rainbows and unicorns. You will also have days of pain, tears, cursing and self doubt and a real pull to seriously consider committing yourself. Along the journey you will find a strength, a will and a connection, not only to your self, but to your support system from those who have been there and done that. I promise you, when you cross that finish line, arms up in triumph, you will feel like you are on top of the world and there is nothing you can't accomplish. So excited for you!! Welcome to the crazy marathon club. I've been here a little while, its nuts, but its nice :)
